Finishing Techniques

When: Wednesdays, February 12 & 26, 3:00–5:00pm
Description: If you’ve ever knitted an item only to be confused about how to finish it off, this class is for you! You’ll learn the arts of weaving in ends, blocking, seaming, picking up stitches to knit a collar or band, and making buttonholes. This hands-on workshop will leave you with the skills to create truly professional-looking projects.
Prerequisites: Participants should be confident in basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.
Homework: Participants should bring along two 4x4” swatches knit in stockinette (*knit one row, purl one row, repeat from *) and bound off, and two additional 4x4” swatches worked in garter stitch (knit every row) and bound off, all four swatches knit from their skein of Vintage.
Min/max number of participants: 5/8
Materials to bring along:
- One skein of light-colored , purchased from Spun
- Knitted swatches (see homework, above)
- Size US8 (straight or circular)
- for seaming
- (size I, J or K)
